This course allows
pre-service English teachers to apply the theories, principles, approaches, and
methods in teaching and assessing literature. It aims to provide them with
various strategies which will deepen learners’ understanding of literature and
will respond to their social, cultural, linguistic, and gender backgrounds.
They are expected to design developmentally sequenced lesson plans and to
provide a range of assessment strategies to address learners’ needs and to
communicate progress and achievement in learning literature.
