This course deals with the study of human parasites which are of e=medical importance especially those commonly found in the Philippines. Emphasis is given to epidemiology, pathogenecity, distribution, life cycle, prevention and control, and laboratory identification of each parasite. Nutrition diseases which may be linked to parasitic ailments will also be included in the discussions.
This course initiate innovative, globally focused public health services in their perspective health care organizations and systems, demonstrate oral and written communication skills to respective clientele and to the members of the health care team to ensure accurate and appropriate information transfer , professionally conduct health education, health administration, health care policy and knowledge development with moral and ethical values, examine and address critical issues that confront the administration and management of public health programs and to ensure resource optimization, administrative efficiency and issues in public health and to apply the research process in the study of health services management and related fields.

This course deals with the study of human parasites associated to neglected tropical diseases which are of medical importance especially those commonly found in the Philippines. Micronutrition deficiency problems as a result of parasitic infection will likewise be discussed. Emphasis for both topics, parasitology and nutrition, shall give special focus on the epidemiology, pathogenicity, distribution, prevention and control, treatment and management as well as laboratory identification.
