The course explores the inextricable link between and among language, culture, and society and its implications to the development of English as a glocal language and the ways by which it is learned and taught. It deals with the concept of language in an international category and how it develops in countries with reference to sociolinguistic contexts. It specifically compares and understands the attitudes of societies towards language with respect to ethnicity and gender roles.
